I discovered the Alexander Technique whilst studying the Recorder at the Royal College of Music. I found the Technique improved many aspects of my life, both in my playing and and my personal well-being. I went on to train as a teacher in Bristol in 2004 and now teach the technique alongside being a professional musician. I play the Baritone Saxophone, Clarinet and Piano. I also Teach Piano.
The Alexander Technique has benefited me in many ways since beginning my journey with it in 1998. As a student, I developed much more self-confidence, and greater physical and mental health. Another huge benefit to me was the disappearance of my migraines, which I had suffered badly with since the age of 7. In 2007 I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Although my mobility is currently limited, my Alexander Technique knowledge means I have been able to manage my disability well and have avoided secondary issues ( hip, back + shoulder problems to name a few).

Since the 2020 Covid 19 pandemic, which greatly affected how many people work, I have done extensive training into teaching the technique online. This brought many new ways of working and thinking about the technique, and has hugely expanded my teaching methods.
I am passionate about passing on this great technique, which I view as a tool to make pretty much any part of your life better!
I am a fully qualified and insured member of STAT (Society for Teachers of the Alexander Technique)
